Abstract
A comparative essay exploring the basic works of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Sigmund Freud, with specific attention to  overlapping inquiry and discontents in order to uncover resemblances between the extremely divergent intellectual models of psychoanalysis and Transcendentalism.
