Abstract
This project explores the impact that gaming has on players' mental and emotional
well-being. Research conducted strongly validates the argument that video games do
benefit emotional and mental well-being by exposing gamers to scenarios that mirror
real-world situations, establishing and reinforcing player emotional awareness,
regulation, and mental health.
However, mainstream media highlight negative narratives that have not been
confirmed by credible sources. The benefits and reality of gaming are often
overshadowed because access to reputable sources discussing the matter is difficult to
find or comprehend.
Digital artifacts (infographics) were developed to provide a resource that is
accessible and easy to understand. Various academic journals, medical journals, case
studies, and therapeutic materials were consulted to achieve this. Specific attention was
given to the proper design principles, techniques, and publication of these resources.
Clearly, conversations about the impact of gaming are needed. But first, accurate
information needs to be developed and made more accessible.
