Abstract
The Lake-Effect Electrification (LEE) Project was a field campaign that took place in 2022 – 2023, focusing on the electrification during snowstorms and if nearby wind turbine farms influence this electrification. This project is a first-of-its-kind effort to thoroughly investigate lake-effect lightning, charges, and interactions of these characteristics with wind turbines.
