Abstract
This paper is a critical reflection and comparative analysis of the United States and Australia concerning my lived experience regarding global and experimental learning, dance pedagogy, career culture, dance and performing arts careers, funding for dance and the arts, and healthcare for dancers. As an American dance student who lived and studied abroad for six months in Australia, I find these topics interesting in how they relate to me, my future career prospects, and my own personal experiences in both nations. As I prepare to enter my professional career, I hold closely the wisdom and worldliness I have gained from my time living and participating in university arts programs in the United States and Australia My experiences and the research I have conducted will greatly contribute to my future working in the arts as both a dancer and arts manager.
