Abstract
Inclusion Story: The Musical is a coming of age musical story and within the musical there is a musical that is being written, directed and produced.
Haley is a freshman in high school with a language disorder which is a part of the autism spectrum. Haley transitions from a special school to typical school. Haley's parents are getting divorced and she is moving away from New York City to Greensboro, NY with her Mom. Haley lives with her Mom except for every other weekend when she goes to her Dad's house in Manhattan.
Haley starts Greensboro High School in an inclusion class. Haley wants to fit in and be successful at Greensboro but is faced with difficulty in her academics and social life. Haley meets her friend Samantha who helps her get acquainted with the activities and social life at Greensboro.
Haley explores clubs and activities in order to get more involved with the Greensboro community. Haley ends up joining the student government. Haley decides to run for student president. Haley ends up losing the election. Since Haley ended up losing the election will focus her attention on starting to write, direct and produce her new musical called Inclusion Story: The Musical about Inclusion, Diversity and Unity within the Greensboro community.
Haley finishes writing Inclusion Story: The Musical. Haley hosts the auditions and directs the musical. Haley is extremely proud of her cast, direction, and writing of the musical she has come up with. Haley uses the strategies that she has learned throughout the years to help her overcome new challenges.
