Abstract
Black non fiction has a history in the dissemination of black experiences and is preserved through the passing of black literature in black communities. Understanding black memories within America is to recognize and portray black experiences within spaces that pay tribute to their memories. To honor my own experience's, I align myself within the lineage of black literature by dawning the title of black authors to create a biomythography, a world that exist between fact and fiction. Utilizing mono printing, digital printing, lithography and, screen printing, I synthesize the realistic and fictional to portray black bodies in comfortable environments to honoring black experiences. Giving Black memories the space to heal and be represented, is to separate violent notions of American culture that threaten black experiences. Printmaking allows for these ideologies of black survival to live within black figures through the essence of black narratives and to reinforce the spaces of black communities.
