Abstract
My senior thesis show Lotus Pod focuses on my own experiences unpacking repressed trauma and lucid dreaming. I invite the viewer to experience firsthand the world I visit every night in my dreams by immersing them in a space that creates the same conditions. This show extends a hand to the viewer, if they take it they are welcomed into an unstable waking dream. Not only do I want the audience to experience my subconscious visually, but I also strive for them to access part of their own. The work dissolves preconceived notions of the limitations of reality by welcoming others into a new one.
