Abstract
As the demands of a career in sport management grow, it is increasingly important to examine
the level of satisfaction employees derive from their jobs in sport. Analysis of previous research
demonstrates that employees that are more satisfied with their jobs perform better and are more
committed to the organization. Modern coaches have more responsibilities than ever before,
being more akin to managers than coaches have been in the past. Ensuring that coaches have the
resources and support to meet the ever-changing demands of sport management is critical for the
success of the organization. It is recommended for sport management organizations to improve
the job satisfaction of employees to facilitate better performance and less turnover among staff
members. The purpose of this synthesis project is to review the literature on the effects of sport
management organizations on job satisfaction.
