Abstract
This series of essays and work explores the creation and making of a play in the horror genre. The original goals and intent are outlined, as well as the actual making of the show, and how it eventually was physically brought to life. Lastly, the project contains a thesis in which elements of the horror genre should be applied to any play of any genre, in order to enhance the experience of the audience overall. The horror genre is typically considered a niche, and there is an examination of the general uses of different elements within a typical horror film or play, and how these can be extracted and applied to any piece of storytelling art, of any genre. While taking information and experience from the horror genre as a whole, artists can create a new work in which the audience experiences art on a different level entirely.
