Sugar on the Tongue of Absence

Sugar on the Tongue of Absence hums in the voice of a child no one stayed for. It lives in the plush silence of overheld toys, in the twinned ache of sweetness and performance. Cuteness doesn't come clean here – it's sticky, bruised, weaponized. A smile is a spell. A costume. A plea. My figures beam like saints in sticker form, their teeth too perfect, their eyes too tired. They don't ask to be understood – only witnessed. Briefly. Tenderly. Before they melt. I build from what's left behind: pixel rubble, low-res leftovers. Each piece is a digital altar dressed in secondhand affection. Printmaking becomes ritual; collage becomes confession. The page collects my ghosts. They smile wide. They bleed pink. They glitch on purpose. The children in my work don't grow up – they echo. They flicker like memories trying too hard to stay sweet. There's no redemption here. Just the sugar. Just the stain.
