Abstract
Twitch is a platform where people can stream live content from gaming to cooking to art and so much more. To find the type of content you want to watch, streamers put various tags on their streams that relates to them. There is a sculpture tag for those who are streaming sculpture live, there are tags for the type of music you're playing, and there is even a tag that allows you to find creators in the LGBTQIA+ community. However, the LGBTQIA+ tag makes it hard to find transgender and nonbinary streamers. For a few years now, members of the Twitch community have been advocating for a Trans Tag. As of recent news, Twitch has announced that they will not be making a tag for transgender streamers. So with the help of some streamer friends, we've started a protest. We're claiming a relatively unused tag category and using it as the Trans Tag. We are using Neutral Characters Tag as the replacement and we're taking our place on Twitch. My project will involve clips from my streams that discuss all sorts of topics with my chat. The conversations about gender, identity, society, politics, mental health, etc. Streaming has been therapy for me in all sorts of ways. I will also be taking clips from video games that have been getting me through the pandemic.
