Abstract
For this project the artist, Kristin Fincken, has created an interactive light installation. Having been inspired by the light and space movement, especially the work of James Turrell, she has created a piece using 9 boxes. Each box has been transformed into a different controlled lighting environment using a variety of different colors and lights. This installation is a scaled model representation, with each box representing what would be a room that the user would be able to walk through and experience.  The goal of the artists' project is light manipulation. Light is often a visual element, something that you see, in addition to each experience she created the artist made sure she included human manipulation of light to give it a physical presence in a space. In order to do that the artist installed 3 smaller boxes that the users can add lights to. Each viewer will be able to have the power and control to try their own hand at light manipulation. The artist has included color changing mini tea lights, mini glow sticks, mini flashing lights and glow sticks, allowing the user to choose how they want to edit the light in each box by placing as many or as few lights as they wish in the space, creating their own light and color experience.
