Abstract
Emergent aquatic insects represent a vital food source to birds and other predators near wetland habitats. Four distinct wetland sites were surveyed for Emerged Aquatic Insects through the months of June and July 2018. These sites included a small beaver pond, a marsh, a cold stream, and a degraded stream. Differences in biomass, abundance, and diversity of emerged aquatic insects were compared to water temperature, habitat structure, and site. Significant differences were found in biomass due to site differences and differences in habitat structure.
