Abstract
This study examines the relationship between Metacritic scores and long-term player retention on Steam. By analyzing player count data across highly and poorly rated games, it tests whether higher-rated games sustain engagement longer. The findings will provide insight on how review aggregators such as Metacritic may influence game development decisions. This poster presents objectives, methods, and data visualizations, and results.
