Abstract
This curriculum project discusses the 5E Model, an instructional strategy that focuses on student-centered learning and conceptual understanding. This curriculum project provides 4 consecutive lessons on logarithms in Algebra II. The first lesson introduces logarithms and makes connections to exponential functions, followed by a lesson on graphing logarithms, then a lesson on logarithm laws, and lastly using logarithms to solve exponential equations. This project addresses the challenges students have with logarithms by connecting logarithms to exponential functions and allowing students to build a strong conceptual understanding first. The keys for all student ready materials are in the appendix.
