The Monsters I Fear: A Project Confronting White Egocentrism and Assimilation Through a Filipino American Lens

My thesis is about researching and employing pre- and post-colonial Filipino mythology, symbols, and words to depict the complexity of how white supremacy still manifests in my life through art. In this paper, I discuss my process with my work and what the materials I work with mean to me, the artists that had influence on my thesis, and the works associated.
