Abstract
A discussion of Italian colonialism and Rationalist architecture built in the capital city of Asmara, Eritrea, while the city laid under Italian occupation in the early 1900's. This paper examines how the city's built environment was designed to enforce segregation and European hegemony due to the white supremacist roots of modern architectural conventions and strategic zoning systems.
