Abstract
Over the past twelve years there is a massive climate crisis that is causing chaos in every conner of the Earth that causes unprecedented "natural" disasters like floods, hurricanes, tornados, heat waves and lung damaging air pollution. The main drive behind these is humanity's release of C02 into the atmosphere which traps heat from leaving our planet and wreaks havoc on world ecosystems. These climate disasters have pushed the demand for an increase in the production of electrical vehicles (EV) for EVs do not procure greenhouse gas like C02. However, many people cannot afford EV due to the expensive equipment that goes into constructing an EV like lithium-ion batteries and electrical motors. This paper will try to find a solution by asking whether converting a gas car into a more environmentally friendly and sustainable electric car is feasible and cost-efficient, and how well the converted cars perform compared to gas vehicles. This paper uses a combination of engineering and industry studies that will measure quantitative of how much money is saved when converting a gas car into an electrical car compered to purchasing an electrical car and qualitative data of how well the vehicle performs before and after the conversion. The results suggest that gas cars can be converted though more work is needed in engineering to increase efficiency and lower costs due to lack of shops and cost of engineering and lithium-ion batteries. It is also demonstrated that these converted cans can match or outperform gas cars. Yes, this a solution but we need to open more shops and give more tax breaks/loans to American citizens of lower income brackets so that way the waiting time is cut in half so more people cars can be serviced without drivers giving up their vehicles for a month or more. In addition, the government grants/tax breaks can help more people U.S citizens afford this service without sacrificing their basic needs like medical car or groceries. This is important because the entire world needs to get off fossil fuels before the global temperature change reaches +1.5 degrees Celsius.
