Abstract
URL.Tracker is an extension using Google's tab API that offers an alternative to the already existing search history that Google offers for Chrome. Though Google's search history
function tracks what the user has been doing, it offers no detail on how the user allocates their time. URL.Tracker is an extension that provides a log of search history while also providing
information on how the user has spent on each tab. It gives the user more insight into how they are spending their time, especially between multiple tabs. URL.Tracker times how long the user
has spent per tab with a timer that begins when the user swaps tabs. It also informs the user what their top five domains are through a pie chart. This extension has been developed over the course
of a year. Many improvements were made by applying research ideas from other facets of web development such as color theory and responsive design to ensure a smooth and pleasant user
experience that will provide more in-depth knowledge on how one spends their time on the internet.
