Abstract
Over the past year, I have become enthralled by the buying and selling of haunted and cursed objects sold on eBay. These listings all have common characteristics that link them together, and branch into an overall examination of the mind and how it functions and relays information. The relationship that we have with our dolls and objects of play is something that is deeply personal, and engrained in an inherent need to humanize and bring to life objects that have no means of doing so. This thesis examines the sub-culture behind haunted dolls, examines common links and characteristics, and further links them to my own experiences as an artist and a maker.
