Abstract
This paper studies the determinants of the Gender Wage Gap (GWG) in United States Soccer. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, yet still has an infamous wage gap. The marginal product of labor and the marginal revenue product of labor of U.S. soccer teams and players allow the gender wage disparity to be determined. According to the USSF, if the USMNT were to have won their respective World Cup in 2018, they would have received five times the bonus money compared to the USWNT who did win the World Cup in 2015. This is a substantial difference considering the USWNT have won the World Cup three times previously while the USMNT have never won the World Cup. Internationally, U.S. Soccer suffers from a wage gap that is heavily affected by gender discrimination.
