Abstract

Understanding the effective population size (Ne) and the number of breeders (Nb) within a cohort is essential in the proper management of a species undergoing extensive conservation and reintroduction programs supported by hatcheries. To address this we try to estimate Nb for Cisco in Lake Ontario using sibship pedigree reconstruction.
