Abstract
My project is a painting series reflecting on a childhood within the suburbs of Long Island, New York. It examines the deeper historical contexts that have created the Long Island suburbs of the modern day, and how one's past within these systems shapes their present. I accomplish this through personal memory and imagery of the modern landscape of Bethpage, Long Island.
