Abstract
The Criminal Justice Department launched a supplemental academic support initiative for CJ 101 and CJ 111 to address student difficulties with theoretical concepts and legal terminology. Following student surveys indicating a preference for personalized guidance, tutorial modules were developed and piloted, alongside a Designated Tutor program led by Professors Zwick, Barnes, and Arienta. An initial seven video lessons were created and made accessible via the Drimmer Library site, and weekly tutorials—both one-on-one and group sessions—were scheduled based on student need. Outreach efforts include email notifications, BrightSpace announcements, and faculty engagement strategies to boost participation. An assessment was conducted with student surveys and metrics on video usage and tutorial attendance in May 2022
