Abstract
In this thesis, an argument is presented on the use of "physical media" within education. The debate on whether "physical media" is superior to digital media inspired an argument of celebration within all technologies, understanding a history behind why we have the technology and the convenience we have now. I use the Purchase Film Archive as a case study on "physical media" found in institutions and how one can make a creative endeavor in film without the use of digital filmmaking. The thesis suggests more hands-on options in film education, while also utilizing media as sources.
