Abstract
Henri Matisse and Georges Braque were among the individuals who pushed object making toward a more dynamic future. Their desire to create dynamic objects lead them to reject the ideas of traditional western perspective and seek out better spatial ideas from history. These spatial ideas aided in the organization, or composition, of elements on the canvas. This importance placed on composition is what allowed them to make dynamic objects. Through the examination of their paintings and works that link them to history, one can understand the basic tenets of art.
