Abstract
Sacrifice is a one of the most powerful story telling devices, capable of taking over many peoples emotions easily and effectively. With this in mind, the government and military use sacrifice in movies and stories that they fund in order to capture the hearts of the American people and increase recruitment rates and improve their image. However, this only propaganda that doesn't show the true brutal and uncaring nature of war. In my paper I talk about how the military achieves this through movies and video games and how my comic subverts these story telling devices to show the brutal reality that is war and that the sacrifice of lives and brotherhood is not enough to win a battle.
