Abstract
I am interested in masks, as well as what is being hidden beneath. Most of all, I am interested in the processes of UNMASKING. It is the challenging part. It is not so simple as removing the mask from the face. It asks what the mask does, why it is on, who made it, who put it there, who sees it, when it should be worn. Once these questions are being asked, this process lends to the understanding that we can claim our own power from behind. We can learn to select which mask to wear when, and why, and how it might be used as a tool rather than an escape, or a disguise. There is a power in mystery, power in visibility or invisibility, power in owning our many faces.
