Abstract
Exploring the topic of how to "hook" struggling readers at the secondary level. For many boys who struggle with reading, engaging them in sports literature is a way to appeal to the interest of a large number of adolescent males. The creation of a sports literature class would supplement the instruction in the regular English Language Arts class and would open the window into reading via a variety of texts.
