Abstract
Abstract The African American Church, affectionately known as the “Black Church,” has been one of the pillars of the African American community since its founding in America in the 17th century.  Through worship, economic and community development and education initiatives, the Black Church has played a pivotal role in the life of African Americans.  The economics of the Black Church and how they have used their resources to promote good for their members and communities are fascinatingg.  Research was conducted through a qualitative method of fact finding via electronic sources highlighting the history and development of the Black Church and its use of its finances. The research highlights and reveals the effectiveness that the Black Church has had in using its resources as an economic driver to build schools, housing, and jobs for its communities.
