Abstract
In this essay, I will be comparing William Bouguereau's Dante and Virgil painting and Auguste Rodin's Gates of Hell and how both of these artists took inspiration from Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy, specifically The Inferno, and their approaches to the subject matter as well as artistic style.
