Abstract
NYCHA is the New York Public Housing Authority where well over 400,000 residents reside in. Many have experienced decrepit conditions that have remained with out repair. Over the course of 8 months, I interviewed various NYCHA residents, organizers and allies about the struggles residents face within the NYCHA system. With talks of a new plan that promises privatization of NYCHA, many residents fear demolition and displacement from their homes.
