Abstract
The artwork describes animals in our modern world through layers of bright colors, mark making, lines and brushstrokes. The artwork is a series of paintings on canvas. Historical and contemporary artists are an inspiration to the paintings by their techniques, imagery and color. The lines and mark making in the paintings are symbolic of the variety of textures and patterns of animals while the colors represent enthusiasm, interest, affection and concern for animals in our world's zoos, circuses and social media. The animals have been here since before 6000 BC and have an impact on our everyday lives.
