Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the underlying causes of the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon. This study questions the extent to which French nationalism and linguistic identity have shaped Cameroonian national identity and contributed to the ongoing unrest in the region. Its goal is to provide a better understanding of Cameroonian nation-building in a post-colonial context through the examination of history, glottopolitics, and the contemporary events of the crisis itself. Ultimately, this study seeks to contribute to the broader discourse of nation-building in Africa and the connection between language and national identity formation.
