Abstract
Homework is widely viewed as essential to adolescent education. The effectiveness of homework in promoting student learning is debated, as many factors may be influential to students. In this study, the effects of assigned homework in high school science classrooms was explored to suggest the best practices for student learning. Findings suggest that many different types of homework are effective in science learning due to the complexity of the subject. Suggestions for further research on adolescent science homework are provided. INTRODUCTION
