Abstract
This project analyzes and contextualizes, a lineage of artistic production within the medium of printmaking in the nation of Mexico in the early 20th century so as to illuminate an inherently revolutionary series of images. The project begins with a discussion of pre-revolutionary Mexico, the artists which would serve as precursors to the rise of political printmaking practices, and ultimately culminates in a discussion of El Taller de Grafica Popular. A collective which was a main contributor in the production of distributable political imagery, with a concluding statement that brings the discussed works into a more contemporary context.
