Abstract
Since 2005 social media has skyrocketed in usage. Originally only five percent of adults were recorded to have been using a social media platform and now in more recent years that number has jumped to seventy percent. It's influence is also massive, influencing the way we look at many topics. One of these topics is politics. The 2016 election got much media attention and the candidates highly relied on social media to reach voters. It is believed that his use of social media is what Trump win the election for different reasons. Such as his entertaining way of tweeting, which is believed to have made him more human to viewers, and the assistance his team got from the Twitter team.
