Abstract
Bhavana is a mixed media meditation exhibition with a short film screening, a gallery of art made by me and other collaborators, as well as community submitted artworks. Theres is a yoga class on Friday Nov. 22nd at 4:30-6pm. The practical component will be a short (10-15page) thesis essay about the vision, intention, and journey of creating Bhavana. My project is closely connected to Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's theory of Flow. Flow state is an interesting place that many have experienced before- where time seems to melt away, and a person is totally engaged with that which they are working with whether it be creative like painting, drawing, dance, or athletic like skiing, yoga, or anything in between. A life of Flow promotes overall well-being, and creative flow does this specifically with creative and therapeutic intentions of approaching work or a project.
