Abstract
As an historic interpreter in the Print Office at the Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford, NY for six seasons I have found much pleasure in both the interpretation for and interaction with the many visitors I receive. As a college professor of graphic design, I am interested in all areas of visual communication, not only printing on the museum’s 1850 Washington iron handpress but also photographic methods of the era such as stereoscopy (3D photography). Considering the appropriateness of the stereoscopic medium to the 19th century, I consider my documentary stereo photos to be part of the culture of the period.
