Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of hormone contraceptive use on a spatial navigation task in young women. The landmark navigation task was used to assess spatial navigation ability. Results showed that women taking hormone contraceptives performed similarly to naturally cycling women on this task. Thus, there was no evidence of differences in spatial ability performance between the groups. The findings add to the limited literature in the field on the effects of hormone contraceptive use on cognition in young women.
