Abstract
A look at challenges regarding educational opportunities among free people of color, and the enslaved. Guys like Frederick Douglass are classic examples of former slaves who rose to the top from being educated. His education though was something he had to truly fight for. Douglass was just the tip of the iceberg of this issue. The paper looks at this historical content in a unique fashion.
