Abstract
Fewer American youngsters are playing tackle football at the youth/Pop Warner level. According to data compiled by the National Sports and Fitness Association, participation among children ages 6-12 has fallen off by nearly 30 percent in the last five years. What is widely perceived to be "America's Sport" has taken a massive hit as medical evidence points to significant hazards, particularly for young athletes.
