Abstract
Waiting for Antonio is a true capstone of my training as an actor in Theatre & Performance and producer in Arts Management. The thesis includes production aims, a technical essay, a character study, an actor's portfolio, and a contextual research essay. In developing the character of Eddie, the techniques of Uta Hagen, Konstantin Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Jacques Lecoq, and Commedia dell' arte were employed. The research essay focuses on the dynamics of racial profiling behind marijuana arrests in New York City in generating a cycle of systemic oppression for New Yorkers of color.
