Abstract
Through this study I hope to gain a better understanding of diversity and representation in commercial theater. By looking at this issue through the comparative lens of non-commercial theater, I hope to see a shift in opportunity that contrasts that of commercial venues. In conjunction with this study, I will be producing “Stop Kiss” by Diana Son at Purchase College. The purpose of this within the context of my project is to utilize this piece of theater to practice what I am preaching and help to create art that provides a platform for diverse and honest representation.
