Abstract
This research project aims to document how Hungary's techno community has created and maintained environments of profound acceptance and mutual support despite mounting external pressures. Drawing from years of direct observation and participant engagement within the scene, this study explores how these spaces serve a dual function: providing immediate sanctuary for marginalized individuals while simultaneously acting as sites of cultural resistance against an increasingly authoritarian society. The research examines how the community's sophisticated safety protocols, chosen family structures, and commitment to protecting its members have evolved into both a necessity and a form of political action. Through ethnographic methods and interviews with key community stakeholders, this project illuminates the strategies through which Hungary's techno scene maintains its status as a vital haven within a challenging political landscape.
