Abstract
N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) are commonly employed ligands for transition metal complexes. A small library of varying sized N-substituted NHCs has been synthesized en route to building a heterobimetallic complex. The design, synthesis, and characterization of these ligands were explored with a particular emphasis on improving synthetic methodology.
