Abstract
This paper will examine a serious deficiency within the criminal justice system particularly in the state of New York over the last twenty years. It will review the many atrocities that occur throughout criminal case prosecutions. It will uncover tactics used unfairly and unjustly by those who are supposed to defend the rights of others and spotlight the major subjects that need to be overhauled and/or changed to rectify these practices going forward. This paper aims to exploit the police and prosecutorial misconduct that took place during the times these cases were being tried. Wrongful convictions, as we know today, continue to manifest in our world and more research needs to be done to further prevent them from happening.
