Abstract
This project details the history of Norman Sicily, covering both the conquest of Sicily in 1061 and the end of Norman rule. More specifically, this projects hopes to discern the true nature of Norman rule over Sicily as it relates to multiculturalism and tolerance as well as how the period has been interpreted by both medieval and modern historians alike.
