Abstract
This 185 hour automotive technician course is the third of four courses creating the automotive certificate program. The 711 hour program provides needed training for an entry level technician program at a repair facility. This course is split into three sections.
The first section covers scan tools, data, and engine performance including:
-Operation and diagnosis of sensors and actuators.
-Scan tools, codes, readiness monitors.
-Ignition systems, fuel systems, major engine controls.
-Wiring repairs, schematics.
The second section covers HVAC introduction including:
-Cooling system operation, testing, and service.
-A/C operation and service, basic HVAC operation.
The third section includes two weeks of internships at area automotive repair facilities.
