Abstract
With the introduction of free access to Primary Education in Kenya, there has been an increase in enrollment of students since 2003. This study uses the Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) data to create visualizations to help the investigation into whether there have been inequalities in the primary education sector in Kenya. The author studies the question of whether there is a divide in quality education between urban and rural areas, as well as the question of whether there is a gender gap in education. The methods use Tableau to create visualizations and Excel to handle the data. We conclude that there does not appear to be a gender gap, but there does appear to be a gap between urban and rural schools.
